Brian Lo

Brian C. Lo is a Taiwanese American artist, community organizer, and small business owner with experience in outreach, exhibition design, and creative community projects. He earned his MFA in Painting from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and has worked in Hawai‘i, Alaska, Taiwan, and Japan. He has exhibited internationally and supported museums, galleries, and artists through installation, exhibition planning, and design. His blend of creative and technical skills helps him connect artists, institutions, and the communities they serve. Since returning to Hawai‘i Island in 2019, Brian founded Koana—an award-winning specialty local business—and the Koana Legacy Foundation 501(c)(3), which offers cultural programs, art workshops, and community events at Ulumau Farm. His work centers on creating meaningful experiences rooted in art, storytelling, and connection to the land. Brian is honored to join EHCC and support its long tradition of serving East Hawai‘i.
