Youth Artivists Hawai‘i
July 29-August 2
10am-2pm
Ages 11-13
Application Deadline: Tuesday, May 28, 2024
Employing a dynamic mix of science, engineering, art and culture, students will explore ocean conservation issues globally and locally. In this arts based research format, students will learn artistic techniques and skills, as well as, participate in hands-on activities with the MEGA Lab like coral reef mapping, data collection, and AR technology.
An artivist is someone who uses creativity to convey a message. These student artivists will then use their knowledge and ideas about the importance of kai conservation to paint a mural alongside a professional local muralist, Shar Tuiasoa (Punky Aloha Studio).
This STEAM camp is a fun and special experience that promises to impact those participating and the entire community.
A partnership between the EHCC, the MEGA Lab, and PangeaSeed
