Important Notice to Teachers !!!

24th Annual Young at Art Juried Exhibit 2012

Call for Entries

The 24th Annual Young at Art 2012 is a juried student art exhibit showing March 3 to 28, 2012 at the East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo. The exhibit is sponsored by EHCC and the Hawaii District DOE, and staffed by volunteers. Prizes are awarded to students whose work wins jurors’ awards.

The prizes are provided by generous donations from Hawaii individuals and businesses.

The purpose of Young at Art 2012 is to celebrate “National Youth Art Month” by recognizing excellence, creativity and originality in all public, charter, private and home-schooled students on the Big Island in grades K-12 by participation in this exhibit.

The Young at Art opening ceremonies include music, prizes and an opportunity for families to support their young artists as well as the arts in our community.

Invitations to the exhibit and opening ceremonies will be given to all teachers for students who enter work. Invitations are for all students in the show, and their friends and family, not only award winners. Teachers should send invitations home and inform parents of award winners so that they will be present to receive recognition and their prize(s).

Please plan an excursion to bring your students to see the exhibit. Call EHCC # 961-5711 or email arts@EHCC.org to schedule your visit.
