"Martha Redbone and Aaron Whitby at EHCC" an evening with Martha - an extraordinary vocalist/storyteller and Aaron Whitby on piano, performing the songs and scenes of Bone Hill. With minimal musical accompaniment and maximum vocals it is a deeper exploration of the traditional singing styles that form the heart of the music of Bone Hill; Cherokee chants, front porch blues and gospel. In the Song Cycle we get to hear more of the songs and scenes written for the musical which is being developed with the support of commissions from Joe’s Pub/The Public Theater, Lincoln Center for the Arts, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Miami Light Project, PA’I Foundation, Ashe Cultural Center and grants from NEFA and NPN.
